Arrest Made in Laurel County Carjacking That Endangered Toddler

Laurel County deputies have arrested a second person in connection with an armed carjacking that put a woman and her young grandchild in danger late last month.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Trenton Morgan of Corbin was taken into custody Sunday night around 8:40 p.m. His arrest follows that of 27-year-old Kristen Mosley, who was located in Knox County and booked on October 18.

Investigators say the incident happened on September 28, when a woman was confronted at gunpoint while her 2-year-old grandchild sat inside the vehicle. The suspects allegedly forced both victims out before taking off in the car.

Mosley faces a charge of complicity to commit first-degree robbery, while Morgan is charged with first-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Both suspects are being held at the Laurel County Detention Center as deputies continue to investigate the case.
