Bicyclist Killed in Lexington Hit-and-Run — Driver Still on the Run

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lexington Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a bicyclist late Saturday night.
According to officials, the crash happened around 11 p.m. in the area of Georgetown Street and Price Road. Police say a vehicle struck a bicyclist and then fled the scene, leaving the victim critically injured.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 59-year-old Jose Luis Hernandez Sosa, of Lexington. He was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:45 p.m.
An autopsy has been scheduled as investigators continue to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the vehicle involved to contact the Lexington Police Department or submit a tip through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.
