Bowling Green woman accused of sharing explicit images of minor on Snapchat

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A 20-year-old woman from Bowling Green is facing charges after authorities say she shared explicit photos and videos of a minor on social media.

According to police, officers began investigating on April 18 after receiving a report that a minor’s Snapchat account had been hacked and that nude content was posted to the account’s story.

The complaint stated that a tablet belonging to the suspect was left at the victim’s home after an argument and was still logged into Snapchat. When the victim woke up, she reportedly discovered multiple messages alerting her that explicit material of herself had been shared publicly.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for both the victim’s and suspect’s Snapchat accounts. The suspect was later identified as Willow Neal.

Detectives say Snapchat confirmed that messages were exchanged between the two accounts questioning the posts. Neal was interviewed on October 28 and acknowledged knowing about the allegations but denied being involved, suggesting the victim may have posted the material “to get her in trouble.”

Police say a subpoena was obtained for the IP address linked to the case. Neal was arrested and booked into the Warren County Regional Jail.

She faces charges of distributing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor between the ages of 12 and 18. Neal is also charged in a separate case with fraudulent use of a credit card involving $500 to $1,000.
