Case of Former UK Student Accused in Infant’s Death Moves to Grand Jury LEXINGTON, Ky. – The case involving former University of Kentucky student Laken Snelling is now headed to a grand jury. Snelling is accused of concealing the birth of her newborn and placing the infant’s body inside a closet. She appeared in court Friday morning for what was scheduled to be a preliminary hearing. However, the hearing was brief as the case was waived directly to the grand jury, bypassing expected detective testimony. Further proceedings will be determined by the grand jury’s decision.
