10/17/2025
LEXINGTON, Ky. – A Kentucky man accused of being connected to multiple overdose deaths has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
According to court documents, Brian Epperson is charged with two counts of distributing methamphetamine resulting in death. The indictment alleges Epperson knowingly distributed a substance containing meth that led to two fatal overdoses.
Investigators say the first death occurred in May in Powell County, where Kristen Morris was found dead from an apparent overdose at an Airbnb. The second incident happened in June when Reachel Dawson was discovered deceased inside a Winchester hotel.
Authorities also believe Epperson may be linked to a third woman’s death in Fayette County, though he has not been charged in that case, according to online court records.
In addition to the federal indictment, Epperson faces murder charges in Powell County and meth possession charges in Clark County.
Each federal count carries a minimum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
