CAMPTON, Ky. (Wolfe County) — A devastating overnight fire has destroyed a well-known Campton establishment, Candles Clothes & Beyond / The Wicked Wolfe. According to the owners, the blaze broke out late Tuesday night, completely engulfing the building and the attached restaurant, resulting in a total loss.
In a heartfelt post shared to social media, the owners expressed their heartbreak, writing:
“We really have no words right now. We are all safe, but we did lose everything in a fire tonight. The building and restaurant are a total loss. Please keep us in your prayers as most of you know this was our whole lives, our kids’ lives — it meant everything to us, including serving the community. We will update when we know more.”
Located in the heart of Campton, Candles Clothes & Beyond had become a local favorite — known for its candles, clothing, and handcrafted goods with a vendor-mall atmosphere. Attached to the business was The Wicked Wolfe, a popular restaurant that served as a gathering place for residents and visitors to enjoy good food and fellowship.

Behind the business sat a scenic pay lake, another local favorite spot where many in the community gathered to relax and fish — adding to the business’s reputation as a true community hub.
Local fire crews responded quickly, but despite their best efforts, the structure could not be saved. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
In the wake of the tragedy, community members have flooded social media with messages of love, support, and encouragement for the owners, their family, and staff as they begin to recover and rebuild from the devastating loss.
