Wayne County Woman Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. — A local woman is facing serious felony charges after authorities say she abused two of her children.

Wayne County deputies were called to the emergency room at Wayne County Hospital Monday evening after staff raised concerns about possible abuse. During the investigation, officers say they discovered injuries on both children that prompted further medical testing.

Officials said CT scans showed the children did not have head injuries, and they were later placed in the care of their grandmother through Child Protective Services.

Kaylee Judd, of Monticello, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning. She is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12 and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. Judd was booked into the Wayne County Detention Center.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
