Hopkinsville Woman Shocked After Receiving Box of Human Remains Instead of Medication

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — A Hopkinsville woman got quite a surprise Wednesday night when a package meant to contain her medication turned out to hold human body parts instead.

According to Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel, the mix-up involved multiple delivery services, including an airline, a freight company, and a courier. The shipment — which contained arms and fingers — was accidentally sent to the woman’s home instead of its intended destination.

Daniel said he personally went to the residence to collect the package and transported the remains to the county morgue. The items will be turned over to the delivery carrier to ensure they reach the proper facility.

The coroner explained that shipments containing human remains are not uncommon and are typically used for medical training, research, or transplant purposes. However, it’s unclear what this particular shipment was intended for.

Daniel described the incident as an unusual — and unsettling — delivery error that is now being investigated to determine how such a mix-up occurred.
