Casey County Grand Jury Hands Down Multiple Indictments, Including 84 Felony Counts in Sex Crime Case

LIBERTY, Ky. – A Casey County man is facing an extensive list of charges after being accused of committing a series of sexual crimes involving two underage girls over a span of five years.

The Casey County Grand Jury, meeting on October 3, returned indictments against eight individuals for various criminal offenses. Among them, 48-year-old Luis F. Aparicio Silva, of Pee Dee Creek Road, faces the most serious allegations — a total of 84 felony counts.

Silva is charged with 20 counts of first-degree rape, 20 counts of first-degree sodomy, and 40 counts of unlawful transaction with a minor for alleged sexual acts with a victim under the age of 16. The indictment further includes two counts of first-degree rape and two additional counts of unlawful transaction with a minor involving a second child. According to court documents, investigators say the abuse involving the first victim began around June 2020, when the girl was 12 years old, and continued through July 2025, up until she turned 17. The indictment outlines at least 40 separate incidents of sexual activity during that time.

The second victim was reportedly nine years old when the alleged assaults began in July 2021, continuing until this past summer.

Silva’s bond has been set at $500,000 cash, and Kentucky State Police Detective Joshua Dicken presented the case to the grand jury.
