Minnesota Underage Sex Sting Nets 16, Including Federal Agent

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – A major police operation in Minnesota targeting an underage sex ring resulted in the arrest of 16 men, including a federal agent.

Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges dubbed the effort “Operation Creep,” referencing the Radiohead song that suspects were singing during the sting.

Among those taken into custody was an ICE auditor, who reportedly quipped, “I’m ICE, boys,” at the time of his arrest. Chief Hodges said the man was booked into the local jail and later transferred.

Another arrest involved a staffer from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. “Maybe he should focus on his job instead of targeting a 17-year-old girl,” Hodges commented.

The sting uncovered more than just attempts to solicit minors. Police released drone footage showing a suspect arriving at a hotel carrying cocaine, meth, and eight firearms. Another suspect admitted to bringing a gun to the meeting, prompting officers to tackle him during the arrest.

The operation is similar to a prior sting that led to the arrest of former state Senator Justin Eichorn, who now faces federal solicitation charges.

Chief Hodges warned that while law enforcement will continue these crackdowns, the work is becoming increasingly challenging. “The tactics these individuals use on these apps are constantly evolving,” he said. “Many platforms are getting sophisticated.”
