Ohio Mother Left Traumatized After Husband Kills Her Two Children, Another Man, Then Himself
A heartbreaking scene unfolded in Tiffin, Ohio, on Wednesday evening after police say a domestic situation turned into a quadruple murder-suicide involving two young children.
Tiffin officers were dispatched to a home on Huss Street around 6:24 p.m. after a distraught woman called 911, reporting that her husband had opened fire. While she was not physically harmed, police described her as being in severe shock and “visibly traumatized” by what she had witnessed.
According to investigators, the woman had returned to the home to gather personal belongings amid ongoing domestic problems. Helping her was 29-year-old Dustin Willey, the father of her 7-year-old child. Her husband, 42-year-old Ryan Eagon, who is the father of her 7-month-old baby, was believed to be working out of town.
Detectives say the two adults were inside the house collecting items while the children—a 7-year-old and a 7-month-old—were outside near a vehicle. Moments later, they heard the older child cry out. When they rushed outside, they encountered Eagon in the driveway.
Witness accounts and early evidence indicate that Eagon chased Willey and opened fire, then turned the gun on both children, fatally shooting them. He then shot Willey again before turning the weapon on himself.
Willey was rushed by first responders to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where he later died. The infant and Eagon were pronounced dead at the home. The 7-year-old was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
Authorities confirmed that no officers fired their weapons during the incident and no first responders were injured.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has joined Tiffin Police as they continue processing evidence and interviewing witnesses.
Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly called the tragedy “unlike anything our community is used to,” urging residents to support the grieving families and the many first responders now dealing with the emotional aftermath.
