Pedestrian in Wheelchair Killed in Louisville Hit-and-Run; Police Seeking Information
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian in a wheelchair early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the area of Preston Highway near Industrial Boulevard around 12:15 a.m., following reports that a person in a wheelchair had been struck by a vehicle.
According to LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say the driver involved left the vehicle behind and fled the area before officers arrived.
At this time, police have not identified any suspects. Detectives with the LMPD Traffic Unit are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
