Pennsylvania Kidnapping Suspect Apprehended in Kentucky Hotel; Victim Safe

MAYSVILLE, Ky. – A Pennsylvania man wanted for allegedly kidnapping his wife was arrested early Friday morning at a Maysville hotel after a joint effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Shawn Michael Prince was taken into custody without any resistance at the Quality Inn, where authorities also safely rescued his wife, Lydia Prince, according to the Maysville Police Department. The operation kicked off around 2:10 a.m. on Oct. 4, when Maysville Police received a tip from Scottdale Police in Pennsylvania indicating the couple might be in the area. Officers quickly located the Princes at the hotel and secured the surrounding area, ensuring the safety of other guests. The Kentucky State Police Special Response Team assisted Maysville officers in recovering Lydia Prince and apprehending Shawn Prince without incident. Prince is currently being held at the Mason County Detention Center. He faces multiple charges, including: • Fugitive from another state • First-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) • Third-degree possession of a controlled substance • Possession of drug paraphernalia The Maysville Police Department acknowledged the collaboration of several agencies, including Scottdale Police, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Mason County Attorney’s Office, and the Maysville Fire Department, for their role in safely resolving the situation.
