A Perry County Woman Arrested on Child Sexual Exploitation Charges

HAZARD, Ky. — A Perry County woman is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into online child sexual abuse material, according to the Kentucky State Police.

Authorities say 36-year-old Megan A. Combs was arrested on April 6, 2026, around 1:30 p.m. by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. The arrest was the result of an undercover investigation conducted through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Investigators report the case began after officials discovered a suspect allegedly sharing sexually explicit images involving juveniles online. Troopers later executed a search warrant at a residence in Hazard, where they seized electronic devices believed to have been used in the crimes. Those items have been sent to a KSP forensic lab for further examination.

Combs is charged with four counts of possession of matter portraying a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance. Each charge is a Class D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison under Kentucky law.

She was lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center. The investigation remains ongoing.

The ICAC Task Force, which assisted in the case, is a joint effort involving more than two dozen local, state, and federal agencies. The program, created by the U.S. Department of Justice and administered by KSP, works to combat online crimes against children through investigations, forensic support, training, and community education.
