Police & DEA Raid Two Businesses
JACKSON, Ky. – Information provided by the Breathitt Advocate confirms that Jackson Police officers, working alongside federal agents with the DEA, carried out raids at two local vape and cannabis shops last week. The businesses targeted were Paper and Leaf and Redbeards, both located in the Jackson Village Shopping Center. The operation took place on Thursday, September 18, and resulted in several boxes of merchandise and an undisclosed amount of cash being seized. According to officials, the products confiscated are believed to be illegal substances. Investigators say that prior to the raids, controlled buys were made at the locations. While no arrests were made at the time, authorities say the cases will be turned over to the Commonwealth’s Attorney for review and possible charges. The DEA also conducted similar enforcement actions in the Winchester area on the same day.
