Three Arrested in Federal Fentanyl Trafficking Case

Three men are facing federal charges after being accused of trafficking fentanyl in Breathitt and Perry counties, according to court records.

A federal grand jury in London returned an indictment on November 21, alleging that Earl Hall, 55, of Jackson; Joshua Hall, 26; and Jared Lovins, 28, distributed 40 grams or more of fentanyl between February and October 2025. Addresses for Joshua Hall and Lovins were not listed in the indictment.

Prosecutors say Earl Hall is charged with multiple offenses, including conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, several counts of distribution involving 40 grams or more, and possession with intent to distribute the drug.

Joshua Hall is charged with conspiracy, distribution of fentanyl, and possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of the substance.

Lovins faces charges of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of the drug.

According to the indictment, the most serious charges — including the conspiracy count — carry potential penalties ranging from five to 40 years in federal prison.
