Two Arrested After Infant Found Unresponsive in Meade County Hotel Room
MEADE COUNTY, Ky. — A man and woman are facing multiple charges after a 2-month-old baby was found unresponsive inside a Meade County hotel room on September 16, according to court records. Authorities identified the suspects as 25-year-old Chance Baldwin and 23-year-old Felicianna Montez. Both have been charged with manslaughter, wanton endangerment, and criminal abuse of a child 12 or under. They are being held at the Meade County Detention Center, each on a $100,000 cash bond. According to an arrest citation, deputies with the Meade County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Muldraugh Police Department responded to the hotel after receiving a call about an unresponsive child. Investigators say Baldwin and Montez admitted to drinking alcohol beginning around 8 p.m. and continuing late into the night before placing the child in bed. When they woke up, they found the baby unresponsive and called for help. Authorities noted that an 18-month-old girl was also placed in danger during the incident, resulting in additional charges. Both Baldwin and Montez are scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment hearing on September 25. The investigation is still ongoing.
